Features and Amenities

The park is surrounded by the ocean, mountains, glaciers and beaches. Everywhere you look there is something magical in the way the sun reflects on the water!  You cannot see this beautiful area anywhere else but on the Homer Spit, a geological landform jutting 4.5 miles out into Kachemak Bay. The park offers direct access to our private beach. Many eagles, otters and seals are frequently observed from the beach.

The community building houses our office, bathrooms, coffee café and a large seating area with TV. Along with a BBQ grill and patio seating, this entire area is open for all guests to enjoy meals or play games. It is a warm place to gather and visit with others out of your RV. We are family oriented for a relaxing and fun experience. You can even watch people land salmon right on the beach.

Although the park is located within the area of shopping, charters and the harbor, it is quiet and secure with a 24 hr staffed office. We are dedicated to making your visit special to you and your family and friends. Our large parking area is available for extra vehicles and boats. There is no charge for dry storage to guests.

Welcome to the Homer Spit

Homer is at the end of the Sterling Highway, 200 miles south of Anchorage surrounded by wilderness and ocean. A home base for great fishing (The Halibut Fishing Capital of the World), kayaking, bear viewing, hiking, destination weddings, foodie and art vacations. The Homer Spit’s origin is the remains of an ancient glacial moraine, a 4.5-mile strip of sand and gravel.
